The NetGreen Team
Linda VerNooy, Executive Director
Linda has been working since 1998 on efforts to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions causing global warming. In the 1980s, as a Training Director for the Institute of Cultural Affairs in Mexico, Peru and India, she lived in countries that are vulnerable to climate change. As Training Director for American Cultural Exchange in Seattle from 1990 through 2001, she managed environmental training programs for leaders and professionals from Latin America, Eastern Europe, Russia and Central Asia.
In 1998, Linda organized the Business Solutions for Global Warming conference with the sponsorship of EPA, Suncor Energy, and the Washington State Department of Ecology. In 2001, with the Northwest Council on Climate Change, she spearheaded the effort to pass the first bill on climate change in the State of Washington, which passed the Senate in 2001, passed both houses and was signed by Governor Gary Locke in 2002. She continued a successful effort in 2003 to pass legislation requiring CO2 mitigation of new power plants in the State of Washington through CO2 offsets. With Tracy Carroll, co-founder of Flexcar, she founded Netgreen and is continuing Tracy's vision to promote community "Get Carbon Neutral" campaigns in the Puget Sound. The NetGreen team has the experience and vision to empower us to Become Carbon Neutral Achieve NetGreen.
